Expect bodies in the streets of African Countries - Melinda Gates warns of the implications of Coronavirus in Africa

Melinda Gates has warned that there will be dead bodies littering the streets in African countries if the world does not act fast to curb the spread of Coronavirus.

Ms Gates said this while speaking to CNN, on  the novel Coronavirus and its effects in the third world countries.

She said she is worried for Africa and fears that the continent might not be able to handle the devastating effect of COVID-19.

"Its going to be horrible in the developing world," she warned.

“Part of  the reasons you are seeing the case numbers still do not look very bad, is because they don’t have access to many tests.

“Look at what is happening in Ecuador, they are putting bodies out on the streets, you are going to see that in countries in Africa,” Mrs Gates noted.

Melinda Gates, who is also co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, fears things will get worst for Africa once cases peak because of poor health care systems and lack of humanitarian supports.

According to Ms Gates, her worst nightmare was when she “saw what China had to do to isolate enormous part of its population. My first thought was Africa. How in the world are they going to deal with this.”

“I have been in townships all over Africa and slums. When we talk in country physical distancing and hand-washing, if you live in slums who can’t physical distance, you have to go out and get your meals. You don’t have clean water to wash your hands,” she added.

Coronavirus: FG warns Nigerians against travelling to China

The Federal government has warned Nigerians against travelling to China, following the recent outbreak of deadly Coronavirus in the Asian country.

Travellers arriving the country from China or any other country where the epidemic has been detected, were also advised to quarantine themselves by staying indoors for at least two weeks.

Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire who made the call after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held at the Presidential Villa, also directed all airlines to report any case of a passenger falling sick on-board before the plane lands.

He said;

“In view of the trending stories around the Coronavirus, it has become very necessary to issue a travel advisory to Nigerians. The first is that all Nigerians and all from Nigeria, intending to travel to China should delay all their travel plans until further notice, except it is extremely essential for them to do that trip.
“All persons arriving from China or any country that has a major outbreak is advised, if they have no symptoms at all, to self-isolate, meaning that they stay indoors in their homes for at least two weeks and if they develop any symptoms, like cough, catarrh, sneezing, breathing difficulties within this period, to report to the nearest health facility.
“We are also advising all airlines to report any case of a passenger falling sick on-board before the plane lands. That is a requirement in the agreement. Nigerian Port Health Services, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control are on alert at our airports and other points of entry. That is the advisory."

Another Intruder arrested at Kendall Jenner's home in Hollywood Hills for trespassing

Another intruder was on Monday night (Nov.2) arrested at Kendall Jenner 's home in Hollywood Hills for trespassing.

According to TMZ, a man named Richard Eggers, 27, was arrested after Jenner’s security team tackled him as he made his way onto her driveway. He had reportedly climbed a fence near the model’s Hollywood Hills home before making his way onto her property.

Securities who spotted the intruder, held him until police arrived. TMZ stated that Eggers told cops he was “going door to door collecting signatures to impeach Donald Trump.”

This isn’t the first time Eggers has been spotted on Jenner’s property. Back in September, he was spotted on Jenner's security cameras, but he had run away before her team was able to catch him.

In 2016, a 25-year-old man was arrested for stalking after he was found standing in her driveway waiting for her to arrive home.

Two years later, the reality star was granted a restraining order against alleged stalker John Ford, who had trespassed on her property four times in three months. "As a result of Mr. Ford's repeated stalking," she said in documents obtained by E! News, "I have suffered and continue to suffer emotional distress."

"I, literally, once a week have a stalker, maybe more, twice a week," she previously said on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. "Some show up at my house, every single day."

16-year-old Kenyan girl stabbed to death 20 times by her teenage friend after she rejected his sexual advances

Police in Kenya are holding a 17-year-old boy who allegedly killed a girl, 16, for rejecting his sexual advances.

Form 2 student Valerian Njeri was stabbed more than 20 times by the teenage boy after she turned down his request for intimacy.

She was killed less than 100 metres from her family’s homestead at Mirera in the periphery of Naivasha town on Thursday, November 28.

Her innocent gesture to return a book earlier given out to her by a neighbour and friend she trusted turned fatal. According to police investigators, the assailant used the book to bait the unsuspecting girl and lured her into the house.

Valerie's father John Ndonu is yet to come to terms with the death of his first-born child whom he described as the family’s beacon of hope.
“She was everything a parent wanted in a child. She was obedient and loved education. She wanted to become a doctor and was passionate about it,” said the mourning father.

She had scored 346 marks in the KCPE, laying bear her education prowess and secured admission at the prestigious Mary Leakey Girls’ School, and was set to join Form Three next year.

Her mother, Mary Goleti Chepleting, said she was a staunch Catholic. “We used to pray in turns whenever she was home,” she recalls.

On the fateful day, Mr Ndonu recalls reminding her daughter to complete her house chores as well as her holiday assignments.
“She promised to do so the same day and we agreed I would append my signature on the school diary as is the norm. That was the last time we spoke,” said Mr Ndonu, overcome with emotion.

Mr Ndonu said that after being informed that his daughter was missing, he rushed home with his wife and joined neighbours, friends and relatives in searching for the girl.
“After several hours of searching, we gave up and decided to continue with the mission later. The following day, a neighbour stumbled on her lifeless body right outside our compound,” he narrated.

According to police, the girl was found naked with over  20 stab wounds on her body.

The boy accused of killing Njeri had attempted to start a relationship with her but she flatly refused, Mr Ndonu added.

The local Nyumba Kumi chairman, Daniel Gichanga, is still pained by the incident that happened a stone’s throw away from his place of business.
“I even asked the teenager arrested for the killing to get me a glass of drinking water and he did it without exhibiting any emotions,” said Mr Gichanga.

He said the boy, a Form Three student at Nanyuki High School, used to lend his books to Njeri during school holidays.
“The teenager accosted the victim after she returned one of the books at around midday. After she turned down his advances to get intimate, he turned wild and stabbed her several times,” said Mr Gichanga.

Police said the suspect hid the body inside his room before dumping it outside the family’s compound at night.

The police are still piecing together information but DCIO boss Kenneth Njoroge said the boy is the prime suspect.
“Initial investigations indicate that the teenager is a key suspect. He is still being interrogated,” he said.

Her body was moved to Naivasha hospital mortuary where a post-mortem will be conducted.

N1tn was spent on NASS constituency projects in 10-years without results – President Buhari

N1tn was spent on NASS constituency projects in 10-years without results ? President Buhari

President Buhari has said that the over N1 trillion spent on the constituency projects of National Assembly members in the last 10 years has produced no results.

He said data collected from Nigerians in rural communities showed that they had not felt the impact of such projects. President Buhari spoke at the National Summit on Diminishing Corruption in Public Sector, which opened at the State House Conference Centre on Tuesday, November 19th in Abuja.

The event was organised by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, in collaboration with the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission.

“N1tn has been appropriated in the last 10 years for constituency projects, but the impact can hardly be seen,” he stated.

The President directed the ICPC to go after the contractors who collected funds for such projects and their collaborators in government.

UK police arrest two men for attacking Arsenal footballers Ozil and Kolasinac

Police in the UK have confirmed that two men will appear in court next month after charging with a public order offence, in connection with an attack on two Arsenal footballers.

Arsenal also confirmed that Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac would not play in Sunday’s opening English Premier League fixture at Newcastle due to “further security incidents”.
“Two men have been charged under Section 4a of the Public Order Act following an incident in Camden on Thursday. Ferhat Ercan, 27, and Salaman Ekinci, 27, were charged on August 9 following the incident and are due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on September 6”  the police said in a statement.
Reports suggested the men were arrested after becoming involved in an altercation with security staff outside Ozil’s house. Section 4a of the Public Order Act refers to offences of intentional harassment, alarm or distress, through threatening, abusive or insulting words, behaviour or displays.

Arsenal said on Friday that Ozil and Kolasinac would not be in the squad travelling to Newcastle “following further security incidents which are being investigated by the police.
“The welfare of our players and their families is always a top priority and we have taken this decision following discussion with the players and their representatives.
We are liaising with the police and are providing the players and their families with ongoing support. We look forward to welcoming the players back to the squad as soon as possible.”
